Otomycosis refers to the fungal infection of the external ear and is characterised by itching, pain and loss of hearing. The disease can be complicated by secondary bacterial infection mostly by proteus and pseudomonas bacteria. The diagnosis is made by demonstration of fungi by scrapings and culture.
